Neat format with this one! I like how it opens with a dream, then follows the fact/implication module. This opens so many rabbit holes for me.

At first, it reminded me of my weirdest ever dream, which was something like 20 consecutive out-of-body experiences in rapid succession: it's like I would twist out of my head to another location in my house, move around, but then be sucked back into my body, where I was frozen in sleep paralysis, only to be pulled away again. Is that even a dream? Still can't quite make sense of it, but leaning towards the mind's ability to make almost perfect simulations of places/people; and so maybe it's less about parallel co-presence and more about having someone imprint on you deeply enough that they can exist in your mind forever.

Second thought was on the parallel worlds. This is way outside my wheelhouse, but I get tripped up at the thought that, if space-time exists indefinitely, or, if universes endlessly reproduce into blackholes through cosmological reproduction, then at some point in the deep future, this exact moment could recur. In this thought experiment, it's less about parallel worlds than grappling with the implication of infinite. And so not only might this moment recur, but tangential/possible/dreamt alternates to our reality might come to fruition trillions of years from now. There's comfort in the hypothetical that all possible branches will explored at a long enough time scale.

This was a lovely and mind opening read.
